Writer. Reader. Rancher.
MY STORY
It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone.
—Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince
I am made up of a wide array of experiences; I am someone who continuously confounds people. I have a deep love for bringing stories to life, for digging into the grit of what it means to be human and what it means to preserve stories and watch as others are lost to history. I act as one of many bridges between rural communities and education; I write to spread knowledge and allow connection across shared histories. I write to continue pushing us forward and to remind us that we all deserve to have our stories told.
My passion for writing is one that I have maintained since I was young; it was reading that first taught me how to see through the eyes of others. I don’t claim to be the world’s most exceptional writer, but I do claim to be one of the most passionate, with an avid fascination to continuously hone my craft and use my writing for good. I aspire to handle each story I encounter with gentleness. I value human connection and the connection words bring us; this notion is held above all else when I write. Through my stories, I aim to inspire change, interrogate past ways of thinking, make people uncomfortable, preserve what’s lost, grapple with the unknown, and challenge our ideals. Above all else, I am a storyteller—whether those stories are recounted from the old cowboy who frequents the small-town diner, told through the eyes of the woman finding her footing in this world, or inspired by fantastical and mystical elements.
I feel deeply; I write deeply.
Stories are not like the real world; they aren't held back by what we know is false or true. What's important is how a story makes you feel inside.

Reflection
I graduated from Montana State University in the spring of 2025 with honors and degrees in each of my respective fields of interest: a BS in Animal Science with a minor in Ag Business and a BA in English Writing with a minor in Literature. I will be pursuing my Master’s in Animal Science, again at MSU, in the fall of 2025 to conduct research in the hopes of expanding underdeveloped areas within beef cattle research. Throughout my time in academia, I’ve become further grounded in my passions and in how I aim to use these passions to do good in the world. Not only do I have a love for learning, but I also have a love for sharing my knowledge and uplifting the communities I am a part of through it.
This portfolio encompasses both sides of myself—both the creative and agriculturally focused. As such, my portfolio is rich with varied forms of writing. I write technically, creatively, persuasively, and descriptively. I’ve found that having the ability to write in different forms has allowed me to weave together stories in unique ways. My own background in ranching and agriculture, coupled with a love for narratives and the fantastic, is a direct testament to how I can, and do, view stories uniquely. But most importantly, what I hope you’ll discover within each piece is my continual love for the art of writing and all the ways it can be used within the world.
